Frequently Asked Questions
It wouldn't be a circle without a learning curve. We're here to help.
How much does Circle Up cost?
As a program funded by the Department of Education, Circle Up is 100% free for teachers and students and always will be.
How is Circle Up different from other SEL programs?
Circle Up is an integrated approach to social-emotional learning, meaning that the SEL learning is deeply connected to the academic learning. Since we know that students experience the full range of emotions during learning, we want students to practice SEL when they're learning academics -- not just during a separate SEL lesson.
Can I adapt Circle Up materials?
Yes! We want Circle Up to work for you in your particular context, so please adapt the materials as you see fit. We'd love to know what changes you make so we can make better materials for everyone. Our only restriction is that you cannot sell any Circle Up materials, original or adapted.
Who created Circle Up?
Circle Up brought together researchers, classroom educators, special education teachers, administrators, and counselors to co-design the Circle Up program. It is still being refined, so please let us know your successes and challenges.
Where do I go if I have questions or need support?
